About University of Cambridge
Founded in 1209, the University of Cambridge is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world, with a rich history of academic excellence and innovation. It is located in a beautiful and culturally diverse city, where you will find museums and art galleries, extensive gardens and punts on the River Cam. The University of Cambridge’s reputation for outstanding teaching and research attracts students and scholars from around the globe, making it a truly international community of learning. Meanwhile, Cambridge alumni have also made remarkable contributions to many fields of human endeavour.
The University is a confederation of Schools, Faculties, Departments and Colleges. The Colleges are governed by their own statutes and regulations, but are integral to the make-up of the University of Cambridge.
Pembroke College, founded in 1347 by Marie de St Pol, Countess of Pembroke, is the third oldest of the Cambridge colleges. Located in the heart of the University city, Pembroke presents a tranquil environment with varied architectural styles framing beautiful gardens and open courts. Openness characterises Pembroke today. The College is an intimate yet diverse community, committed to welcoming students of exceptional talent regardless of their social, cultural or educational background, and giving them the benefit of contact with a large and distinguished Fellowship.
