About Huazhong University of Science and Technology
HUST was established in 1952, originally under the name of Huazhong Institute of Technology. In 2000, the university merged with Tongji Medical University and Wuhan Urban Construction Institute, to form the new Huazhong University of Science and Technology as it is known today. Huazhong University of Science and Technology is located in Wuhan, it is a multi-disciplinary research university, covering 12 major disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and arts. The university is composed of one main campus situated near the East Lake scenic spot and a satellite medical campus located in the central business district of Hankou on the other side of the Yangtze River.
About Wuhan
Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province in central China, is situated on Jianghan Plain, a river-crossed fertile land created by the Hanjiang River joining the Yangtze River. This is a routine port for a Yangtze River cruise. Divided by the Yangtze, the city is known as the 'Three Towns of Wuhan' with Hankou and Hanyang on the west bank, and Wuchang on the east.
