About Freie Universitaet Berlin

Freie Universität Berlin is a leading research institution. It is one of the 13 German universities being funded through the German government’s Excellence Strategy and is part of the only University Consortium of Excellence, the Berlin University Alliance. The long-term goal is nothing less than to turn Berlin into an integrated research environment and one of Europe’s leading research hubs.
 

About Freie Universitaet Berlin Summer University

Freie Universitaet Berlin offers an intensive academic program where students can earn credits that may be recognized at their home institutions. FUBiS offers intensive and semi-intensive German language classes on up to five different proficiency levels. In addition FUBiS offers subject classes on various class topics. Most classes are held in English by distinguished German and international faculty.

Notes:

  • Host Institutions may provide orientation activities for students, with some mandatory, which you should attend. You are required to pay attention to the host institution's arrival information and arrive in time.
  • You should only depart after completion of the program (i.e. finishing all final examinations and/or assessments, both compulsory and optional ones).

HKUST-nominated students are requried to take in-person courses only. For detailed course list, please refer to their website.

 

Fees

This is a fee-paying program and HKUST students will bear the program fee and the costs for travel, visa, insurance, personal expenses and other fees incurred by the program.

Eligibility

Visa Information

Health Insurance

Students are obliged to have valid health insurance for the entire duration of the program. Please CLICK HERE for details.
