About University of Leeds
The University of Leeds was founded in 1904, but its origins go back to the nineteenth century with the founding of the Leeds School of Medicine in 1831 and then the Yorkshire College of Science in 1874. The University of Leeds is divided into seven groups known as faculties and has more than 39,800 students from across the globe.
As one of the largest universities in the UK, the University of Leeds is also part of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities and is renowned globally for the quality of its research and teaching. About Leeds International Summer School (LISS)
LISS combines world-class tuition and academic field trips with exciting excursions and social events. Students can choose from a diverse range of academic modules, meet interesting people from around the world and immerse themselves in British culture and society.
LISS is made up of two blocks, each spanning two weeks. HKUST-nominated students are required to take one module from block one and one module from block two.

- Host Institutions may provide orientation activities for students, with some mandatory, which you should attend. You are required to pay attention to the host institution's arrival information and arrive in time.
- You should only depart after completion of the program (i.e. finishing all final examinations and/or assessments, both compulsory and optional ones).
Fees

Visa Information
Students may be required to apply for a visa to attend the program. Please refer to the website of Government of UK and LISS visa guidance for information.
Health Insurance
HKUST students who take part in the University's study abroad programs will be covered by the University's Travel Insurance Plan. Please CLICK HERE for details.
Accommodation
As a summer school student, you will live in Montague Burton, a University halls of residence right next to campus. Students will have the privacy of their own room and share bathroom, kitchen and dining facilities with other summer school students. For details, please CLICK HERE.
