About Yonsei University
Being the oldest private university in Korea, Yonsei University was first established in 1885 by Christian missionaries. About AEARU Winter Abroad Program
The AEARU Winter Abroad Program is a 2-week program organized by Yonsei University. The program comprised of Korean language courses provided by Korean Language Institute and Special lecture (Learning Korean with K-pop, K-drama). HKUST students nominated to participate in the AEARU Winter Abroad Program will join Session 2 of the Winter Abroad at Yonsei (WAY) program.
Students may choose to also enrol in WAY Session 1 (27 December - 17 January) as a fee-paying student. No nomination is required for Session 1. Application should be submitted directly via the WAY program website.

- You should only depart after completion of the program.

Fees
This is a fee-paying program and HKUST students will bear the tuition fee, accommodation fee and the costs for travel, visa, insurance, personal expenses and other administrative fees.

Eligibility
You are eligible to apply for the program if you:
- will have completed Year 1 by the start of program; and
- have a cumulative CGA of 2.0 or above (Students with CGA below 2.0 may also apply. Offers may be given with special consideration.).
Selection Criteria
Selection is made taking into account the following factors:
- Academic standing (CGA); and
- Information submitted in the application; and
- Previous participation in study abroad programs
Application Process
HKUST students must apply through the Office of Global Learning. Individual direct application to Yonsei University will not be accepted.

Step 2: The Host Institution Application (TO BE COMPLETED AFTER YOU ARE NOMINATED BY HKUST)
If you are nominated, you will be notified to submit a formal host institution application. Detailed information and application instructions will be available in due course.
Financial Assistance

Visa Information
You are required to visit the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong or the nearest embassy or consulate of the Republic of Korea in your home country for accurate information. Please note that foreign nationals participating in short study abroad programs maybe able to stay in Korea for a maximum of 90 days without a visa. You may CLICK HERE for more information.
