About Technical University of Denmark

For almost two centuries DTU, Technical University of Denmark, has been dedicated to fulfilling the vision of H.C. Ørsted – the father of electromagnetism – who founded the university in 1829 to develop and create value using the natural sciences and the technical sciences to benefit society.

Today, DTU is ranked as one of the foremost technical universities in Europe, continues to set new records in the number of publications, and persistently increase and develop our partnerships with industry, and assignments accomplished by DTU’s public sector consultancy.

The number of student enrolment is higher than ever and, for the eleventy consecutive year, we have received a record-breaking number of applications from students who want to pursue a degree from a technical elite university with a global outlook.

The international dimension is of vital importance to DTU. In 2013, we welcomed 474 international students into our MSc programmes, half of our PhD students are recruited from abroad, and more than one third of our scientific staff are highly qualified researchers of international backgrounds. In addition, the extent and intensity of our collaborations with other leading technical universities around the world continue to grow.

About International Summer University of Denmark

The Summer University DTU Programme offers courses with instruction entirely in English language for BSc and MSc students of engineering or related natural science programmes.

* Important notes on the Program:

• Priority will be given to Third-year students
• At least 4 regular terms in the School of Engineering and enrolling in a major Department

• There are 3 terms (3 weeks each) in the program – June term, July term and August term. HKUST engineering students are required to choose between 2 options:
  • Option 1: June Term and July Term; or
  • Option 2: July Term and August Term
• Students are strongly advised to look at the course offering for International Summer University at http://kurser.dtu.dk/search .
• The date above indicate the period of mandatory activities in the programs. They do not include travel time, pre-arrival preparation, orientation, etc.
• Host institution may organize orientation activities for exchange students before the start of the program. You should refer to the acceptance package and pay attention to the expected arrival or pick-up dates specified by your host institution.
• You should only depart after finishing all the final examinations and program requirements since host institutions will not make special arrangement for taking any examinations other than scheduled.
