About GEM Trailblazer Summer Programme
NTU’s summer programme offers offers more than 20 courses across 5 different tracks and let you experience a unique summer in the heart of the fast developing Asia-Pacific region.

** Students are allowed to register up to 2 courses within each track or across different tracks. However, do make sure there is no clash in the timetables between the courses.
Five tracks will be offered this summer:
- Track 1: Language and Cultural Studies
- Track 2: Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Track 3: Creative Design and Media
- Track 4: Success in the Globalized Marketplace
- Track 5: New Technologies, New World
If Track 2 (i.e. ET5131/ET5122) is chosen, students are required to take either both courses in Track 2 OR a course from another Track to make the whole stay as
at least 4 weeks.

Nominated exchange students are exempted from tuition fees but are still required to make payment for the administrative and material fees:

Eligibility
You are eligible to apply for the exchange program if you are:
- All undergraduate students in the School of Science (priority given to year 2 or above students)
- AND having CGA at 2.5 or above (students with CGA below 2.5 may still submit application; offers will be granted under special consideration)

Application Process
To apply, click the "Apply Now" button on this page. The whole application process has two steps.
Step 1: Complete HKUST application form and submit supplementary documents
Step 2: The Host Institution Application (TO BE COMPLETED AFTER YOU ARE NOMINATED BY YOUR SCHOOL)
If you are nominated, you will be notified to submit a formal host institution application. Your School will provide you with detailed information and application instructions in due course.

Health Insurance
It is compulsory for all summer students to purchase the NTU Group Hospital & Surgical Insurance (GHSI) even if you have a similar insurance coverage back home. The insurance fee is already included in the administrative fees.
