About Tecnologico de Monterrey’s iSummerMx Programs

Tecnologico de Monterrey’s iSummerMx Programs are an itinerant academic experience for students who love traveling and learning about new cultures. These programs last 5 weeks and allow students to visit multiple Tec de Monterrey campuses in different cities, providing the opportunity to learn about diverse regions of the country while continuing their studies.

Program Options

There are 4 programs to choose from, each with its own unique focus and itinerary. Every program includes 2 courses (6 credits), along with special activities, conferences, and trips.

  1. Global Business
    This program will help you to identify business opportunities in international markets and develop value proposals to help enterprises thrive in a specific international context.

  2. Mexican Cultural Heritage and Social Challenges
    This program will help you to understand, identify and analyze aspects of Mexico's culture so that you integrate them into your cultural knowledge.

  3. Regional Economics
    This program will help you to analyze the effects generated by the development and economic growth of a country, based on real and nominal macroeconomic variables.

  4. Beyond borders: An immersive journey through the culture, society and political context of Mexico
    In this program, you will have the opportunity to explore the phenomenon of migration using intersectionality, gender and human rights approaches. You will be acquainted with the work of both public and civil society organizations in a multicultural environment.

Program Duration

24 June – 26 July 2024 (5 weeks)

Fees

Nominated exchange students are required to pay USD $2,450, which cover the following expenses:

  • Tuition
  • Housing
  • Transportation for all program activities, including pick up on official arrival day and transfer from city to city
  • Breakfast six days of the week
  • Tickets to all visits and events of the program
  • Student arrival kit
  • Health Insurance

Eligibility (for students applying via School of Science)

You are eligible to apply for the exchange program if you are:

  • All undergraduate students in the School of Science (priority given to year 2 or above students)
  • AND having CGA at 2.5 or above (students with CGA below 2.5 may still submit application; offers will be granted under special consideration)


Application Process

Step 1: Complete HKUST application form and submit supplementary documents
 
Step 2: The Host Institution Application (TO BE COMPLETED AFTER YOU ARE NOMINATED BY YOUR SCHOOL)

If you are nominated, you will be notified to submit a formal host institution application. Your School will provide you with detailed information and application instructions in due course.
