About Sungkyunkwan University - International Summer Semester
The International Summer Semester (ISS) is an unforgettable four-week summer experience. By bringing together students and faculty from Korea and around the world, the ISS is not only academically stimulating; it also offers an opportunity to make new friends and discover Seoul and Korea.
The Humanities and Social Sciences Campus of Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) is located within the traditional city center of Seoul, one of Asia’s largest, safest and most dynamic cities. Seoul is home to some of Asia’s best universities, as well as a quarter of the entire Korean population.
SKKU's Natural Sciences Campus is located in northern Suwon, home to many innovative start-up and spin-off companies, as well as Samsung Electronics, the world's largest technology company. Surrounded by greenery and served by its own subway station, the Suwon Campus offers a relaxed environment and easy access to southern Seoul

- At least 2 regular terms in the School of Engineering (i.e. Year 1 students can apply provided that they will have completed 2 regular terms at HKUST prior to the commencement of this summer program)

- The dates above indicate the period of mandatory activities in the programs. They do not include travel time, pre-arrival preparation, orientation, etc
- Host institution may organize orientation activities for exchange students before the start of the program. You should refer to the acceptance package and pay attention to the expected arrival or pick-up dates specified by your host institution.
- You should only depart after finishing all the final examinations and program requirements since host institutions will not make special arrangement for taking any examinations other than scheduled.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria
- Applicants should be in good academic standing with a CGA NOT lower than 2.150 in Fall Term 2024-25. (Students are expected to maintain good academic standing in Spring Term 2024-25.)
- Applicants will have completed at least 2 regular terms of study in the School of Engineering but will NOT have completed all degree requirements by the end of Spring Term 2024-25.
- Students in the BEng+BBA Dual Degree Program are eligible to apply.
- Applicants should have a good command of the English language.
- All applicants must attend a selection interview held by the School of Engineering in February. Absence from the interview without prior approval from the School of Engineering Exchange Office will result in automatic rejection of the application.
- Applicants who have been disqualified by the School of Engineering from Engineering Summer Exchange Program cannot apply.

Step 1: Complete HKUST application form and submit supplementary documents
Step 2: The Host Institution Application (TO BE COMPLETED AFTER YOU ARE NOMINATED BY YOUR SCHOOL)
If you are nominated, you will be notified to submit a formal host institution application. Your School will provide you with detailed information and application instructions in due course.
