About Beihang University

Beihang University (formerly Beijing Institute of Aeronautics) or BUAA for short, was founded on October 25, 1952 out of the merger of the aeronautical departments of Tsinghua University, Beiyang University, Amoy (Xiamen) University, Sichuan University, Yunnan University, Northwest Institute of Technology, College of Engineering, North China University, and Southwest Aeronautical Institute. It is now affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information. Since the school was founded, BUAA has been a university under national key construction. After 60 years of construction and development, the school basically forms the core competitiveness of research-oriented university, its internal cohesion and influence in domestic and overseas have an obvious improvement, which ascends in the first phalanx of domestic high-level universities. The school provides various disciplines, and characterized by teaching feature. The university now consists of 33 Schools covering 10 disciplines. BUAA now has 2,866 faculties and staffs teaching 32,157 students.

Important note
  • Host Institutions usually organize orientation activities for exchange students, with some mandatory, which take place 1 week before the start of the term. As stipulated by the host institution, there may be extra quarantine measures required by the host institution on top of the mandatory measures imposed by the government. You should refer to the acceptance package and pay attention to all the important information provided by your host institution.
  • You should only depart after finishing all the final examinations (including resits) since host institutions will not make special arrangement for taking any examinations other than scheduled.

Eligibility

As stipulated by the host institution, only students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan can be accepted. There is also a CGA requirement of 2.8 or above.
