About Zhejiang University

Located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang University (ZJU) is a prestigious institution of higher education with a long history. Qiushi Academy, the predecessor of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1897 and was one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China. ZJU is organized across 7 faculties and 37 schools. It is home to 4,191 full-time faculty members, including 52 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. ZJU has 60,739 full-time students, over 56% of whom are postgraduate students.

About Hangzhou

• Host Institutions usually organize orientation activities for exchange students, with some mandatory, which take place 1 week before the start of the term.
