Program Overview

About Aarhus University

Aarhus University is a young, modern university established in 1928. It has grown to become a leading public research university with international reach covering the entire research spectrum. Aarhus University plays a decisive – and essential – role at the hub of the city of Aarhus. Aarhus University's main campus is located in the city of Aarhus. Aarhus is Denmark’s second largest city and the youngest measured in terms of the average age of its inhabitants, which is far lower than anywhere else in the country. Aarhus University alone has 40,000 students. This gives the city a youthful and exciting vibrancy of its very own. The city has a reputation for education and training – a brand that extends well beyond the borders of Denmark. It is a lively, modern university, which collaborates with the business community, with cultural centres and with other universities throughout the world.

Aarhus University’s School of Business and Social Sciences (Aarhus BSS) is accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS for the school’s core business activities. This means that BSS is a Triple Crown accredited business school.

Today, around 35,000 undergraduate and graduate students attend Aarhus University. These students are taught by around 6,000 full and part-time academic staff and supported by app. 3,000 technical and administrative personnel.

Beautifully situated, most of the university's yellow brick buildings are placed in a hilly area with a morraine valley. These attractive friendly surroundings promote inspiration, industry and efficiency - and students who have come here have taken away fond and lasting memories.

About Aarhus

Aarhus is a dynamic city on the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. From here, beach, harbour and forest are all within reach of a 15-minute bike ride. 315.000 people live in Aarhus and 1,2 million people live in the greater Aarhus Area. Being a university city, Aarhus is the youngest in Denmark measured by average age, but historically one of the oldest. Thus, the atmosphere is a vibrant mix of youthful energy and blasts from the past. In Aarhus, you will find knowledge in clusters of highly specialized businesses, research and educational facilities driven by a desire to collaborate and innovate. Renewable energy, food, health and productivity are all areas in which Aarhus excels, and with top 100 university right smack in the middle of things, highly qualified employees and the most up-to-date research are literally just around the corner.
