About Peking University

Peking University is a comprehensive and national key university. The campus, known as "Yan Yuan"(the garden of Yan), is situated at Haidian District in the western suburb of Beijing, with a total area of 2,743,532 square metres (or 274 hectares). It stands near to the Yuanmingyuan Garden and the Summer Palace.

PKU has effectively combined research on important scientific subjects with the training of personnel with a high level of specialized knowledge and professional skill as demanded by the country's socialist modernization. It strives not only for improvements in teaching and research work, but also for the promotion of interaction and mutual promotion among various disciplines.

Thus PKU has become a center for teaching and research and a university of a new type, embracing diverse branches of learning such as basic and applied sciences, social sciences and the humanities, and sciences of medicine, management, and education. About PKU Globex Julmester Program

Globex program provides focused coursework in a range of academic disciplines, taught by both PKU and visiting faculty, paired with a variety of extracurricular activities. International students will experience life and culture in China, while earning up to 6 academic credits. Besides the class, we will arrange a variety of field trips and on-campus social and cultural activities to enrich your learning experience. 


Students who are nominated by HKUST are required to take in-person courses with a consecutive study abroad duration of 3 weeks. No online courses are allowed.

Course enrollment are highly competitive and students are reminded to have a flexible course selection plan.

Notes:

  • Host Institutions may provide orientation activities for students, with some mandatory, which you should attend. You are required to pay attention to the host institution's arrival information and arrive in time.
  • You should only depart after completion of the program (i.e. finishing all final examinations and/or assessments, both compulsory and optional ones).

HKUST-nominated students can enjoy a discounted tuition fee of CNY 9,000 (regardless of 1 or 2 courses taken). Also, studnets are free to register and participate in 3-day Beijing Tour.

Travel-related Information

Hong Kong and Macao students would need an appropriate travel permit to travel to Mainland China. International students are required to obtain a visa for entering Mainland China and students are responsible to take care of the visa application process.


Insurance

HKUST students who take part in the University's study abroad programs will be covered by the University's Travel Insurance Plan. Please CLICK HERE for details.
