About the program - Israel Study Tour
In addition to possessing a rich history, Israel has fast become one of the world's high-tech hubs with companies such as Intel, Google, Facebook, SAP, Intel, establishing bases in the region. HKUST is partnering with Keren Hayseod-United Israel Appeal to offer this 10-day study tour with the aim to offer HKUST students an opportunity to witness both Israel's history as well as its modern economic and technology development. The program itinerary comprises visits to selected government agencies, tech companies such as Google, top universities and research centers, IT startups and Fin-Tech companies, as well as historic sites and landmarks in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Keren Hayesod-United Israel Appeal is one of Israel's national institutions, and registered in Israel as a non-profit organization. In partnership with the global Jewish community and Friends of Israel in over 45 countries worldwide, Keren Hayesod-UIA helps further the national priorities of the State of Israel. Keren Hayesod-UIA programs and projects are adapted and changed to meet the changing needs of contemporary Israel and the Jewish world. They are designed to provide social, cultural and educational frameworks that ultimately spur growth and expand horizons for Israel and the Jewish people. This is a program offered by HKUST Office of Global Learning which aims to encourage students to explore destinations that are less familiar, with the view to further broadening the global opportunities offered to HKUST students.

Fee payment arrangement
Group travel & Air ticket
Students participating in this program MUST travel to the destination in one group, but will be allowed to return on a later date. HKUST Office of Global Learning will arrange group travel for participating students. Students are required to pay for the air tickets upon offer acceptance. Below is the preliminary flight information. Interested students should plan to travel on these dates, but also be flexible in case of any necessary itinerary changes.
Hong Kong to Tel Aviv: 6 January (Note: Arrival to Hong Kong International Airport on 5 January)
Tel Aviv to Hong Kong: 15 January (Note: Arrive Hong Kong on 16 January)
Successful students will also be invited to fill in a form to indicate their choice of return date. Students who choose not to travel with the group at the end of the program will need to pay for the fare difference if the air ticket price is higher than the group ticket price and will need to make their own arrangement to the airport.
Students are usually given a short notice period to confirm your air ticket. Please watch your mailbox very closely after you have received your offer (including your junk folder).
Eligibility
You are eligible to apply for HKUST Israel Study Tour if you fulfill the requirements listed below.
Students who have participated in programs offered by HKUST Office of Global Learning or Schools before can also apply but priority will be given to those who have not participated in any overseas learning programs before.

Visa Information
HKSAR passport holders can enter Israel without a visa for visits of up to 90 days.
Students holding other passports should enquire on their visa requirements via this link. Students will be required to lodge the applications in person. Details can be found HERE.
Financial Assistance
The HKUST Study Abroad Financial Assistance aims to help local HKUST students with financing their study abroad programs. More details can be found at HKUST Study Abroad website.
Travel Insurance
HKUST students who take part in the University's study abroad programs will be covered by the University's Travel Insurance Plan. Please CLICK HERE for details.
Accommodation
HKUST participants will stay in accommodation arranged by Keren Hayesod-UIA. Students will be accommodated in twin or triple rooms.
