About Peking University
Founded in 1898, Peking University (PKU) is a comprehensive and national key university. The campus, known as "Yan Yuan"(the garden of Yan), is situated at Haidian District in the western suburb of Beijing, with a total area of 2,743,532 square metres (or 274 hectares). It stands near to the Yuanmingyuan Garden and the Summer Palace.
Peking University strives not only for improvements in teaching and research work, but also for the promotion of interaction and mutual promotion among various disciplines. It now consists of six faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Health Science Center,Economic and Management, and Information and Engineering. The University has 49 colleges and departments, and offers 128 undergraduate programs, 285 graduate programs, and 262 doctoral programs. While still emphasizing fundamental sciences, the university has paid special attention to the development of applied sciences.
Thus PKU has become a center for teaching and research and a university of a new type, embracing diverse branches of learning such as basic and applied sciences, social sciences and the humanities, and sciences of medicine, management, and education. Its aim is to rank among the world's best universities in the future.

Term date
- Host Institutions usually organize orientation activities for exchange students, with some mandatory, which take place 1 week before the start of the term. As stipulated by the host institution, there may be extra quarantine measures required by the host institution on top of the mandatory measures imposed by the government. You should refer to the acceptance package and pay attention to all the important information provided by your host institution.
- You should only depart after finishing all the final examinations (including resits) since host institutions will not make special arrangement for taking any examinations other than scheduled.

Eligibility
As stipulated by the host institution,
only students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan can be accepted. There is a requirement of no failing courses at HKUST when you apply for the program.
